Project Scope
This was my first big redesign when I was brought on to the company, they had an ecommerce store but it was a bare bones website. I was tasked with redesigning the website and launching it live to motivate more online sales and provide a better user experience to the brand’s customers.
Project Solution
In the new website relaunch, I pretty much had to redesign the user interface from the ground up, it had a good navigation structure but that was pretty much it. On the homepage it was a “Coming Soon” page that has been up since the company got bought out by our company.
In my redesign, I paid close attention to the shopping categories. I wanted to sort by different vehicle lifestyles. We had Tuners, Classic (since has been shut down) and SlingShot products and seats. I made sure to feature those prominently on the homepage as well as some products that we considered “hot items” and products we wanted to get rid of quicker. Just to limit the amount of clicking through options the user had to go through. Once the user clicked on their desired vehicle build, I would refine their choices further so they can pinpoint exactly what product they are looking for.
It looked like the users really appreciated the revamp because they started quickly finding products and stimulated ordering on the website as the numbers below, show.
